PURPOSE: An AP(Access Point) selecting device and a method thereof are provided to select an AP including excellent transmission quality by using a beacon message broadcasted by the AP in a wireless communication network environment. CONSTITUTION: A channel classification unit(120) confirms the information of the frequency included in a beacon message in each AP. The channel classification unit classifies a plurality of APs. A selection reference calculation unit(130) calculates an estimated value of an SINR(Signal to Interference-plus-Noise Ratio) based on a value divided by interference and noise strength of a channel which belongs to one of the AP. An AP selecting unit(140) selects the AP based on the estimated value of the SINR calculated in each AP.
