PURPOSE: A shim coil independent of inclination is provided to be decoupled from a gradient field while maintaining the capability to be integrated into a local coil. CONSTITUTION: A shim coil device(9) includes a shim coil(11) and a pair of compensation coils(13). The shim coil and the compensation coils are connected in series and have windings in the opposite direction from each other. A constant current source(17) supplies power and is controlled by a fixed time range of 1-1000 Ms. The shim coil and the compensation coils are arranged on the same coil plane(16). The whole array of the shim coil and compensation coils is symmetrically arranged with respect to a first central axis(20) and a second central axis(21). The central axes(20,21) are perpendicular to each other and placed on the coil plane. The whole induced surface is enclosed by conductor loops(14,15,24,25) of the compensation coils and corresponds to an induced surface enclosed by a conductor loop of the shim coil. |
