PURPOSE: A dehumidification air purifier and an overload control method thereof are provided to resolve the overload generated from the dehumidification air purifier without the separate and the additional component, and to provide the dehumidification function in a high temperature, such as the summer time, thereby saving energy and cost. CONSTITUTION: A dehumidification air purifier and an overload control method comprises the following the steps of; a filtering step(S10) of filtering contaminant, which is contained in the air which is introduced by the flow of air which is formed by a fan, by using a filter; a dehumidification step (S20) of operating in a dehumidifying mode, in which vapor in the air is removed, by cooling the air introduced by evaporating the refrigerant gas by a heat exchanger after the refrigerant gas is compressed by a compressor and liquefied by a condenser; an overload mode converting step(S40) of monitoring that whether the dehumidifying part is overloaded or not and increasing the rotational speed of ventilation fan when the overload is sensed; and a dehumidification mode returning step of returning to the dehumidification step when the overload on the compressor is sensed.
