PURPOSE: A steel cord for reinforcing a tire and an air injection radial tire using the same are provided to improve durability by improving rubber penetration property on the inside of a cord of a three layers structure. CONSTITUTION: A steel cord for reinforcing a tire comprises a first layer core(1), a second layer core(2), and a third layer core(3). The first layer core is comprised of one filament(1a). The second layer core is comprised of 6 filaments(2a). The third layer core is comprised of 11 filaments(3a). One or more filament of the core among the first layer core, the second layer core, and the third layer core comprises a two dimensional waveform. A twist direction of the second layer core and the third layer core is same.
