PURPOSE: A quantum rod luminescent display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to absorb the light of a backlight unit by arranging a quantum rod including a quantum rod layer in one direction. CONSTITUTION: A pixel region is defined in a first substrate(110). A first electrode(150) is formed in the pixel region. A quantum rod layer(155) is formed in the upper part of the first electrode. A quantum rod layer includes quantum rods aligned in one direction. A second electrode(160) is formed in the upper part of the quantum rod layer. A backlight unit(180) is formed in the outer surface of the first substrate.
