PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission control method and an apparatus which is applied to the same are provided to perform a setting of an oil pressure in order to control each pulley of a continuously variable transmission by determining first and second transmission control oil pressures. CONSTITUTION: A drive pulley(200) and a vertical pulley(300) comprises a fixed pulley piece and an operation pulley piece. A belt circulates by connecting the drive pulley and the vertical pulley. A continuously variable transmission control unit(100) performs a transmission ratio control through a change of each pulley. An actuator and an oil pressure pump operate an operation pulley piece of each pulley from side to side on a corresponding shaft.
