PURPOSE: A plunger for a fuel injecting pump is provided to compress fuel at sufficient pressure in a low-load operation and to maintain damage reduction function of the fuel injecting pump caused by high-speed rotation and cavitation when releasing pressure. CONSTITUTION: A plunger for a fuel injecting pump comprises a connection groove(11), a control surface(13), and an assist groove(14). The connection groove is vertically and recessively formed along a vertical direction of the outer periphery. The control surface includes a sloped projection which lower part is cut at predetermined depth. The assist grooves have a gap mutually along a circumferential direction of the outer periphery in the upper part of the control surface.
