PURPOSE: A device for preventing drain water of an air conditioner flowing backward is provided to prevent condensate water remained in drain hoses from flowing backward to an indoor unit when drain lifting height is set low due to ceiling height, thereby preventing possibilities of a water leakage. CONSTITUTION: A device(100) for preventing drain water of an air conditioner flowing backward comprises a connection pipe(110) and an opening unit(140). The connection pipe is formed to be hollow. Joining units are formed in both ends of the connection pipe to be connected to drain hoses. The joining unit includes an insertion unit(122) and a cover unit(124). The insertion unit is inserted into an inner diameter of the drain hose. The cover unit is formed in the circumference of the insertion unit and surrounds the outer diameter of the drain hose. The opening unit is arranged inside the connection pipe. The opening unit opens/closes the inside of the connection pipe by the operation of a drain pump.
