PURPOSE: A calendar information synchronization device and a method thereof are provided to synchronize holiday information and time setting at the same time when country setting is changed, thereby enabling a user to efficiently use a calendar function of a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: When a country is discriminated by a time zone setting value, a portable terminal requests holiday information of the country to a server. The server stores holiday information for each country and transmits the holiday information of the country requested from the portable terminal. A memory(130) includes a calendar database(131) which stores the holiday information. When a corresponding city is selected in a time zone setting screen, a control unit(110) discriminates a country of the city and transmits the same to the server and stores holiday information of the city, which is received from the server, in the calendar database.
