PURPOSE: A gearshift operation detection device of a transmission cable for a vehicle is provided to improve fuel efficiency of the vehicle and to prevent fuel consumption when the vehicle stops by detecting motion of a gearshift and by controlling operation of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A gearshift operation detection device of a transmission cable for a vehicle comprises a magnet, a moving member(230), a metal member(240), a hall sensor(250), an engine control unit(260). The magnet is included on a connection unit of a connection member(210). The moving member is rotated along linear movement of a connector(110) when a gearshift is operated so that a length is changed. The metal member rotates with the other end of the moving member when the moving member rotates. The hall sensor detects a magnetic force of a magnetic field changed by being formed between the magnet and the metal member when the metal member rotates. The engine control unit controls movement of the engine by information of the magnetic force detected by the hall sensor. [Reference numerals] (300) Engine
