PURPOSE: An information providing system using an NFC(Near Field Communication) tag and a method thereof are provided to collect destination information and arrival time information of a passenger and to supply a lot of content with the obtained information. CONSTITUTION: A passenger terminal(102) transmits a unique vehicle number of a touched NFC tag(101) and an inputted destination. A vehicle terminal(105) transmits GPS(Global Positioning System) information of a GPS module. An information collection server(103) stores the unique vehicle number and a position of a vehicle corresponding to the unique vehicle number.
