PURPOSE: An electronic device and a method for providing a content recommendation service are provided to automatically collect watching information and to share the watching information through social network environment. CONSTITUTION: A control unit extracts content information for displayed content in response to a user action which requests content recommendation(S331,S332). A content recommendation confirmation message is displayed(S333). The control unit controls a display of an editing GUI(Graphic User Interface) in response to a user action which requests editing(S334,S335). The control unit generates a content posting request message(S336). A network interface unit transmits the content positing request message to a relay server(S337).
