PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for treating arsenic contaminated water that can satisfactorily clean heavy metal contaminated water while reducing material cost.

SOLUTION: The arsenic contaminated water treatment method for purifying arsenic contaminated water includes passing arsenic contaminated water through a mixture of iron and consolidated clay. The consolidated clay functions as a carrier to whose surface iron ions dissolved from the iron are adhered.
