The invention relates to a method for determining an ophthalmic lens wherein: a first and a second reference axes (G?, G2) are determined, the first reference axis being set to a value comprised between [?t - 20°, ?t + 20°] with ?t being the mean axis of astigmatism over a first temporal portion (Portion l), and the second reference axis being set to a value comprised between [yN - 20°, YN +20°] with YN being the mean axis of astigmatism over a second nasal portion (Portion 2); a combined reference axis (G) is determined as a linear combination of the first and second reference axes; over the first portion, the sphere value along the combined reference axis is superior to the sphere value along a perpendicular axis to the combined reference axis (Formula I); and over the second portion, the sphere value along the combined reference axis is superior to the sphere value along a perpendicular axis to the combined reference axis (Formula I). The method enables an improved distortion without degrading the performance in term of correction of the optical power defect and optical residual astigmatism. This results in an increased comfort for the wearer. The invention further relates to a progressive ophthalmic lens, a method for manufacturing a pair of progressive ophthalmic lens, a set of apparatuses for manufacturing a pair of ophthalmic lenses, a set of data, a computer program product and a computer readable medium associated to this method. |
