[Problem] To provide a production process that makes it possible to freely control the particle size, shape, and shell thickness of hollow nanoparticles in the production of hollow nanoparticles having a shell constructed mainly of calcium silicate and having a nano-sized particle size. [Solution] A first step for forming core-shell particles having a coating layer comprising amorphous silica on the surface of core particles containing calcium; a second step for making the coating layer of the core-shell particles into a shell constructed mainly of calcium silicate, by hydrothermal treatment; and a third step for removing the core particle part of the core-shell particles while leaving the shell part of the core-shell particles; are performed. |
