<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber gyro having a more accurate rotating speed measured value by minimizing interference from input light matched with an undesired polarization state of a resonator or input light matched with a spatial state of the resonator. <P>SOLUTION: A ring resonator which circulates a light beam in each reverse propagation direction includes an optical fiber coil 24 having a hollow core and first and second end parts, a first optical element 40 configured to receive an input light beam and to direct part of the input light beam to the reverse propagation direction of the ring resonator, and a second optical element 42 configured to direct the majority of a circulating light beam to the reverse propagation direction of the ring resonator together with a first optical element and to guide out a transmission mode component of the circulating light beam at one end part. The part of the input light beam enters one of the first and second ends, and the circulating light beam is based upon the input light beam. The transmission mode component shows a resonance peak of the ring resonator in the reverse propagation direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
