<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus for on-vehicle use that can detect the direction of an object existing outside an azimuth detecting range. <P>SOLUTION: A radar apparatus for on-vehicle use comprises a plurality of reception antennas constituting a reception array antenna having two or more types of average pitches not in a relationship of integral multiple to one another, and an azimuth detector that performs phase rotation so as to vary the azimuth of an object apparently by a prescribed angle with respect to each of the signals of reception by each unit of the reception array antenna having two or more types of average pitches, and processes azimuth detection to detect the azimuth of the object on the basis of the result of the phase rotation, and that, if the detected azimuths of the object are found identical, determines that the object apparently exists within the narrowest azimuth detection range in the azimuth detection processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
