This method for producing display panels includes: a sub step for forming a photosensitive material layer constituting a second layer on a first layer; a sub step for positioning a photomask on the photosensitive material layer, said photomask having different optical transparencies in a first region, which overlaps in a plan view with a section where a second opening is to be formed, and a second region other than the first region; and a sub step for exposing the photosensitive material layer constituting the second layer via the photomask. In a plan view, the area of the first region of the photomask is larger than the area of a first opening of the first layer.
