<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal shutter module capable of high-speed switching operation without the use of a ferroelectric liquid crystal and a method for controlling said module. A liquid crystal shutter (10) according to the present invention includes a control unit (3) for controlling a drive voltage on the basis of a control signal, a first liquid crystal module (1) that is switched to a shielding state when a drive voltage (101) is applied thereto, and a second liquid crystal module (2) that is switched to a transmissive state when a drive voltage (102) is applied thereto. The first liquid crystal module (1) and the second liquid crystal module (2) are laminated in the transmission direction of the light (9) from a light source. The control unit (3) preferentially controls the drive voltage for either the first liquid crystal module (1) or the second liquid crystal module (2), and thus can switch between the shielding state and the transmissive state on the basis of a control signal.</p> |
