<p>Ultrasonic waves are transmitted from an ultrasonic probe including a plurality of elements to a subject, ultrasonic waves reflected by the subject are received, received signals from a plurality of reflection points having different depths are acquired, and local sonic speeds in respective regions where the plurality of reflection points are present are calculated. The changes (inclinations) with respect to the depth direction of these calculated local sonic speeds are calculated, and from the calculated inclinations, a scanning line with an inclination within a predetermined threshold value in the neighborhood of zero is determined as a scanning line with no refraction.</p> |
