PURPOSE: A fire extinguishing system of a submarine engine room is provided to divide the room as an existing sealed structure from a residing space for crews, thereby effectively bearing in spite of pressure rise due to jetting carbon dioxide inside the room in fire suppression. CONSTITUTION: A fire extinguishing system of a submarine engine room includes a high pressure vessel(20), a sealed pressure-resistant partition chamber(18), a fire extinguishing discharge nozzle(24), a fire extinguishing opening/closing regulating valve(26), a leakage detector, a safety valve(36). The pressure vessel stores carbon dioxide. The partition chamber separately stores the vessel. The nozzle is connected to the vessel with a fire extinguishing pipe(22), and is installed inside the room(10). The opening/closing regulating valve is installed at the pipe. The detector detects the leakage of the carbon dioxide inside the partition chamber. The safety valve removes the leaked carbon dioxide inside the partition chamber.
