The present invention relates to a liquid sample inspection method which comprises: filtering, through a filtration filter, a liquid sample that is obtained by preparing specimen; and then detecting or qualifying a substance to be detected in the liquid sample on a liquid sample inspection instrument that comprises a chromatographic medium, to said chromatographic medium a substance capable of capturing the substance to be detected being bonded. In the liquid sample inspection method, the filtration filter comprises a glass fiber filter having a pore size of 2.5 mum or greater and a resin filter formed of an expandable organic polymer resin material. According to the present invention, a substance to be detected in a specimen can be detected by the immunoassay method at a high accuracy without causing errors in development.
