<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting open and close of a vehicle door which can detect open and close states of a vehicle door of an electric train that has entered and stopped only on a station platform side, obtain information relating to open and close states of a vehicle door with a high detection accuracy without being influenced by ambient light and dirt on the vehicle and detect open and close states of a vehicle door with a high accuracy while taking into account of a getting in/out condition and a crowding condition of passengers, and to provide a method for detecting open and close of the vehicle door. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 13 for detecting open and close of a vehicle door detects open and close states of the vehicle door 15 of an electric train 14 stopping at a station platform 11. The apparatus 13 for detecting open and close of the vehicle door includes: a range image sensor 21 in which a range including a vehicle floor surface 42 around a boarding doorway 41 is set as a ranging target range 18, and which is installed on a station platform side; and a vehicle door open/close determination means 32 for determining an open/close state of the vehicle door based on 3D range images 44, 45 obtained by the range image sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
