<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original reader in which a reading face in an original such as a book can be set upward, which is superior in stability, is miniaturized and can continuously transport and read various types of originals. <P>SOLUTION: An original reader includes: a setting section 6 including an original platen 40 on which an original is set; a paper feed tray 2 on which the original is placed; a paper discharge tray 3 for storing the original; a transmission section 4 including an almost linear original transmission path 18 for transmitting the original from the paper feed tray 2 to the paper discharge tray 3; and a reading section 5 including a reading unit 30 which is disposed in a place between the original platen 40 and the transmission path 18, moves to read an image of the original on the original platen 40 and rests to read the original transmitted through the transmission path 18. The paper feed tray 2, the transmission section 4 and the paper discharge tray 3 are disposed by arranging them in this order in a moving direction of the reading unit 30 in a moving region of the reading unit 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
