<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating a stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD)-mediated disease or condition in a mammal. <P>SOLUTION: The method of treating the stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD)-mediated disease or condition in the mammal, preferably a human, comprises a step of administering to the mammal in need thereof a compound of formula (I). In the formula, V, W, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>are defined in the specification. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compound of formula (I) are also disclosed.
