The present invention describes use of compounds of formula 1 or 2 or their compositions for the treatment of leukemia and use of compound of formula 1 or its composition for treatment of infections caused due to M. tuberculosis. The invention further discloses use of compound of formula 3 for the conversion of solar energy into electric current in dye sensitized solar cells. Also, the present invention discloses a process of extraction of compounds of formula 1 or 2 or 3 from the the extract of aerial parts of Anisomeles heyneana
