PARAMETER SEARCH METHOD AND PARAMETER SEARCH SYSTEM

Provided are a parameter search method and a parameter search system with which a computation device having multiple cores is used, thereby enabling the accuracy of a search for an optimal solution to be improved while reducing the time required to search for a parameter. A computation device having multiple cores first divides the search space for parameters included in a control program for an internal combustion engine into multiple spaces. Next, a search for a local optimal solution in each of the divided search spaces is assigned to each of the multiple cores, and the searches for the local optimal solution which have been assigned to each core are executed in parallel by the multiple cores. Then, the global optimal solution is selected from the local optimal solutions retrieved from the divided search spaces.
