摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium rechargeable battery which comprises an excess of LiFePO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>based cathode material relative to Li<SB POS="POST">4</SB>Ti<SB POS="POST">5</SB>O<SB POS="POST">12</SB>based anode material. <P>SOLUTION: A lithium rechargeable battery comprises electrochemical cells connected in series. Each of the electrochemical cells has a Li<SB POS="POST">4</SB>Ti<SB POS="POST">5</SB>O<SB POS="POST">12</SB>based anode, a LiFePO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>based cathode, an electrolyte, and a separator separating the anode from the cathode. Each electrochemical cell comprises an excess of LiFePO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>based cathode material relative to Li<SB POS="POST">4</SB>Ti<SB POS="POST">5</SB>O<SB POS="POST">12</SB>based anode material to prevent at least one of the electrochemical cells from being permanently damaged in an over-discharge state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
