<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarizing film having high contrast and excellent polarizing capabilities for preventing occurrence of light leakage in a short wavelength region. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polarizing film comprises at least a swelling treatment, a dyeing treatment, a crosslinking treatment, a stretching treatment, and a cleaning treatment are carried out on a polyvinyl alcohol film. During at least one of the treatments subsequent to the crosslinking treatment, a water-soluble antioxidant is added to a treatment liquid so as to satisfy the following formula (1): 0.0005≤A×B≤0.03, where A represents the concentration (mol/L) of the water-soluble antioxidant in a treatment bath, and B represents the reducing power of the water-soluble antioxidant in the reduction of iodine to iodine ions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
