A rotor for a rotating electric machine that has magnets which are bonded to bonding surfaces on the outer periphery of a rotor core, wherein large-bore concave sections and small-bore convex sections are formed on the inner circumferential surface of a shaft through-hole, which is formed in the rotor core, by changing the diameter of the shaft through-hole in the axial direction, the convex sections are provided at the opening sections at both ends of the shaft through-hole, a shaft having ridge-like convex parts on a press-fitting section thereof is installed by press-fitting the shaft into the shaft through-hole, the concave sections are formed at two or more positions, and the diameters of the concave section, the convex section, and the shaft are set according to the relationship expressed by the diameter of main shaft body < the diameter of the convex section < the diameter at the ridge-like convex parts of the shaft <the diameter of the concave section. |
