It is disclosed an espresso coffee maker composed of a beverage capsule chamber and comprising in its arrangement one water tank 2 bearing a water replenishment port 6 and a water level control means, a pump 7, a heater 13 bearing an electric element 14, a thermostat 11, an overheating-preventing means 12, a beverage capsule chamber 15, a capsule recognition device 17 placed inside the chamber 15 for recognizing the type of the beverage capsule in use, an electronic board 10 controlling the operations of the coffee maker 1 and two solenoids: a fist solenoid 9 conducting water to the interior of the heater 13 and a second solenoid 8 conducting water to the interior of the beverage capsule’s chamber 15 for the production of cold beverages .
