The Electrical terminal (2) has a clamp element (4) including an opening (4a), and another clamp element (6) including a mantle surface arranged in the opening and corresponding to the opening and a circular borehole (6a) arranged eccentric to the mantle surface. The borehole is formed for accommodating a contact element. The opening is formed from an upper section and a lower section that is smaller than the upper section. The upper section is arranged centric to a periphery of the former clamp element. The lower section is formed centric or eccentric to the upper section. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening an electrical terminal i.e. battery pole terminal, to a contact element.
