CUTTING CHIP RECOVERING DEVICE AND CUTTING CHIP RECOVERING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting chip recovering device capable of properly recovering cutting chips even in the case cutting chips different in sizes and materials are mixedly present.

SOLUTION: The cutting chip recovering device used in a construction cutting a peripheral wall of a city water pipe 1 surrounded by a branched case 2 having a branched pipe part 20 by a cutter and recovering cutting chips generated when cutting has a device body 51 attached to a position closing the branched pipe part 20, and a hollow shaft part 52 which is formed in a hollow shaft shape penetrating through the device body 51 and in which a distal end opening 52a is formed so as to be able to go back and forth to the city water pipe 1 through the branched pipe part 20. The hollow shaft part 52 is constituted such that a mesh 54b is attached to a position covering the distal end opening 52a, small cutting chips K1 having sizes capable of passing through holes of the mesh can be sucked and discharged to the outside through the holes of the mesh 54b along with fluid, and large cutting chips K2 having sizes incapable of passing through the holes of the mesh 54b can be attracted to the mesh 54b by suction force.
