<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and playback device capable of detecting errors in each track. <P>SOLUTION: The recording and playback device includes sorting means for sorting bit sequences of a writing object into partial bit sequences having the same number as the number of writing tracks, error detection encoding means for performing error detection encoding of each partial bit sequence to generate an error detection encoding partial bit sequence, error correction encoding means for performing error correction encoding of the whole error detection encoding partial bit sequences for the number of writing tracks to generate an error correction encoding bit sequence, an interleaver for interleaving the error correction encoding bit sequence, serial-parallel conversion means for performing serial-parallel conversion of the interleaved error correction encoding bit sequence to generate a writing bit sequence for the number of writing tracks, and writing means for converting each writing bit sequence into a writing signal to write the writing signal in each track of a recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
