摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a structure that removes foreign matter such as paper powder accumulated in a contact part between a cleaning blade 10a and an intermediate transfer belt 5 without decreasing productivity and is able to ensure the slidability of the cleaning blade 10a with respect to the intermediate transfer belt 5. <P>SOLUTION: Toner bands different from each other in terms of the degree of toner aggregation and an amount of electrification are supplied to a contact part. In a first toner supply mode, a toner band is formed in a yellow station on the upstream side, and also primary transfer current is increased. Accordingly, a toner band with the high degree of toner aggregation and a large amount of electrification can be supplied to the contact part, and foreign matter can be removed. On the other hand, in the second toner supply mode, a toner band is formed at a black station on the downstream side and also primary transfer current is decreased.
