The method involves detecting movement of finger (2) of a user on a defined input surface (4) by an image detection device (1) i.e. camera, and selecting a control element (7c) based on detected position or movement of the finger. Color changing of a finger tip (3) is carried out by pressing the finger on the input surface. The color changing of the finger tip is detected by the detection device such that activation of the selected control element is caused, where the selection of the control element is displaced on an output surface (6a) of a graphic output device e.g. head-up-display. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a graphic computer system.
