A backlight system (21) of a flat panel display device (20) comprises a light source (630), a first main splicing piece (611), a second main splicing piece (612), a third main splicing piece (613), a fourth main splicing piece (614), a fifth main splicing piece (615), a sixth main splicing piece (616), and at least one auxiliary splicing piece (621). The first main splicing piece (611), the second main splicing piece (612), the third main splicing piece (613), and the fourth main splicing piece (614) are spliced to form a main frame of a back frame (610) of the backlight system (21). The auxiliary splicing piece (621) is arranged in the main frame and spliced with the main frame. The light source (630) is arranged on the second main splicing piece (612) and the fourth main splicing piece (614). The fifth main splicing piece (615), the first main splicing piece (611), the sixth main splicing piece (616), and the third main splicing piece (613) are spliced to form a middle frame of the backlight system (21). The backlight structure is simple, and the material of the back frame (610) can be saved, so as to reduce the cost of the flat panel display device (20).
