PURPOSE: A structural member buffer and a structure using the same are provided to prevent damage to a main structural member by concentrating loads on the structural member buffer when the load which is over buckling strength is applied. CONSTITUTION: A structural member buffer(1000) comprises a buffer unit(100), a plurality of slits(200), and an opening unit(300). The buffer unit is connected to a structural member(2000) and buffs loads applied to the structural member. The slits are formed on one side of the buffer unit in a height direction. The opening unit is comprised in the slit formed at the corresponded end in order to open the slits(200a,200b) formed at the corresponded end.
