PURPOSE: A wall pad based home network management system and a method thereof are provided to set a home gateway and a target device by using a wall pad installed in a home. CONSTITUTION: A home gateway(110) connects a wall pad and a home target device to a home network for providing a home network service and one or more internet networks for providing an internet service. The home gateway includes a first data transmission and reception unit(200), a connector(210), and a second data transmission and reception unit(220). The connector receives a first setup request with the first data transmission and reception unit. The connector forms a connection path between the target device and the wall pad. The second data transmission and reception unit transmits and receives data for setting the target device through the connection path formed between the target device and the wall pad.
