PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus which detects an abnormal state in which a switching element cannot be turned off although the switching element is controlled to be off to prevent thermal destruction of the switching element.
SOLUTION: When a current which flows into an IGBT 110d is larger than a current threshold value, a current detection circuit 125 determines that the current flows in the IGBT 110d. When the current detection circuit 125 determines that the current flows in the IGBT 110d although a drive signal gives an instruction to turn off the IGBT 110d, a control circuit 128 determines an abnormal state in which the IGBT 110d cannot be turned off. Then, an off-holding FET 123a is turned on. As a result, electric charge is discharged from a gate of the IGBT 110d and the IGBT 110d is turned off. Therefore, the abnormal state in which the IGBT 110d cannot be turned off is detected although the drive signal gives an instruction to turn off the IGBT 110d, and thermal destruction of the IGBT 110d can be prevented.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
