This refrigeration cycle device has a bypass circuit (7), which returns a cooling medium to the suction side of a compressor (1) via a third heat exchanger (14), said cooling medium having been separated by means of a gas-liquid separator (5) that is provided between an expansion valve (4) and a second heat exchanger (6) (evaporator). Liquid cooling medium mixing preventing operation for preventing the liquid cooling medium from mixing in the bypass circuit (7) is performed on the basis of a temperature difference between a temperature of the cooling medium on the outlet side of the third heat exchanger (14) in the bypass circuit (7), and a temperature of the cooling medium on the inlet side of the third heat exchanger (14).
