The tensioning unit (1) has a pin (2) for inserting in an aperture passing through wings and flanges. The pin includes a tilting bar (4) with a clamping surface that is pivotable along a longitudinal axis of the pin. A tensioning body (6) with a tensioning surface is supported at the pin, where the tensioning body is movable relative to the tilting bar. The tilting bar is oriented in the longitudinal direction of the pin in an initial position of the tilting bar, where the tilting bar is movable from the initial position to a working position by gravity. An independent claim is also included for a method for bracing two parts.
