The embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and system for configuring extended carrier resource, and relate to the technical field of communication, in order to ensure that the positions of the baseband direct current carriers are coincident when UE (User Equipment) of different versions uses member carriers and extended carriers with different width respectively for transmission. The method comprises: acquiring the physical resource block number (N1) of a member carrier bandwidth, and the physical resource block number (N2) of an actual extended carrier bandwidth; according to a rule preset with a base station, adding or deleting one physical resource block to or from the actual extended carrier bandwidth to obtain a virtual extended carrier when the (N1) and the (N2) are of different parity, which makes the positions of the baseband direct current carriers of the member carrier and the extended carrier coincident with each other, wherein the physical resource block number of the virtual extended carrier bandwidth is (N3). The embodiments of the present invention are used in wireless communication.
