<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cap for a buried leg that is mounted without threadably engaging a buried leg part nor projecting from a road surface, and neither separates nor floats by contacting a grader of a snowplow or the like even if freezing on an upper surface is caused. <P>SOLUTION: The protective cap includes a cap body 31 which is fitted in a first hole part 12 of a buried leg 1, having the first hole part 12 and a second hole part 13 having a smaller diameter than the first hole part 12, so as to close the first hole part 12, and a projection part 32 which is projected from a lower surface of the cap body 31 and fitted in the second hole part 13 of the buried leg 1. The cap body 31 has a height dimension equal to or less than a depth dimension of the first hole 12 of the buried leg 1, and has a knob part 34 for removal formed in a relatively projection shape as a recessed groove 33 is formed in the upper surface.
