<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for preventing track squeeze within a hard disk drive. <P>SOLUTION: A preamble field is written in a hard disk drive according to a method of decreasing track squeeze. In order to remove fluctuation in low frequency of a preamble stitch line from an ideal position, a preamble field of a specific data track is written during a number of times of rotation of a disk. By writing the preamble field of one data track while the disk is rotated a number of times and by writing the preamble field in discontinuous servo wedges each time the disk is rotated, fluctuation in low frequency of the preamble stitch line from the ideal position is converted into fluctuation in high frequency of a preamble stitch line in which no low frequency track squeeze occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
