<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tea strainer and a teapot with the tea strainer, wherein the ring of the tea strainer is not required to be almost equal to the opening of the teapot in diameter, the bag-like part of the tea strainer can be largely swung vertically and horizontally in the inside of the teapot, and tea leaves or the like after use can be disposed of in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The tea strainer 1 is composed of a belt-like ring 2 and a permeable membrane 4 made of flexible material in the shape of a bag, and is configured to be fitted into the upper opening of the teapot. In part of the belt-like ring 2, a notch part 3 or an incision part to be cut is formed.
