<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the load resistant power, while reducing the weight. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle exterior beam has a square cylindrical beam body extending in a vehicle width direction at a lower position of a vehicle front part or a rear part. The height H0 of a vehicle mounting face 11 of the beam body 10 is formed higher than the height of the front face 12 locates the other side. The upper face 13 and lower face 14 of the beam body is formed with the slope 15 that is inclined and extends inside so that the height of the beam body gradually reduces as going from the upper and lower ends of the mounting face to the upper and lower ends of the front face, and a plane face 16 extending horizontally from the slope to the upper and lower ends of the front face. The ratio W1/W0 of the width W1 of the slope to the width W0 of the upper face and the lower face is set ≥0.3 and less than 0.7, and the ratio H1/H0 of the height H1 of the slope to the height H0 of the mounting face H0 is set ≥0.01 and less than 0.03, or the ratio W1/W0 and the ratio H1/H0 are set ≥0.2 and less than 0.3, and ≥0.02 and less than 0.04, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
