<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device that enables a user to easily check the status of monitoring means in a predetermined specific state (e.g., in a state where abnormalities occur). <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring device 4 remotely monitors a monitoring zone including a plurality of monitoring areas where monitoring means (e.g., a monitoring camera 2 and an image recorder 3) is installed. The monitoring device 4 executes: a first displaying step of displaying a monitoring zone; a second displaying step of displaying, when the monitoring zone displayed in the first displaying step is selected, a monitoring area included in the monitoring zone; and a third displaying step of displaying, when the monitoring area displayed in the second displaying step is selected, a plan view of the monitoring area. In the second displaying step, if there is monitoring means in a specific state in the selected monitoring zone, only a monitoring area where the monitoring means is installed is selectably displayed.
