<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display panel having excellent display characteristics even if an insulating layer is provided. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophoretic display panel (1) comprises: a pair of substrates which are arranged oppositely through a space and at least one of which has optical transmittance; one or a plurality of pixel electrodes (18) formed on a substrate surface of one of the pair of substrates; one or a plurality of common electrodes (12) formed facing the pixel electrodes (18) on a substrate surface of the other substrate of the pair of substrates; a liquid body (15) formed by dispersing two kinds of charged particles which are enclosed in between the pair of substrates and different in color and polarity; and an insulating layer (4) disposed between the pixel electrodes (18) and the liquid body (15). The insulating layer (4) has a volume resistivity of 1/100 or more and 1/10 or less of that of the liquid body (15), and has the same or nearly the same relative permittivity as that of the liquid body (15). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
