<p>When a malfunction occurs in a relay device, a session is terminated and reestablished, and thus, speed-up of communication through the session cannot be achieved. Therefore, problems such as message transfer not being completed within a predetermined time are caused. Provided is a relay backup device which relays communication when a malfunction occurs in a relay device which relays communication between a client and a server. The relay backup device is connected so as to relay communication between the server and the relay device, performs communication with the client through the relay device, and is provided with: a communication unit which transmits/receives messages; a relay processing unit which relays the received message; and a malfunction detection unit which detects the malfunction in the relay device by assessing whether or not the received message is received from the relay device. When a malfunction is detected in the relay device, the malfunction detection unit switches the mode from the normal mode to the backup mode and continues the message relay.</p> |
